Course Description

First Aid in the Workplace: Learn the essentials of handling medical emergencies in a workplace setting, from injury management to patient assessment.
Cardiac First Response: Gain the skills needed to respond to cardiac emergencies at the community level, including CPR and defibrillation techniques.
Incident Procedures and Patient Care: Understand how to manage incidents effectively and provide critical care to unconscious patients, including recovery position techniques.
Emergency First Aid: Address common medical emergencies like asthma, diabetes, and seizures, as well as manage burns, hypothermia, and more.
Communication and Information Management: Master the art of clear communication during emergencies to ensure swift and effective responses.
Well-being of the First Aider: Learn how to care for yourself while helping others in high-stress situations.

Course Details

Who’s It For
There are currently no prerequisites for this course. Students should be physically well enough to carry out CPR as well as other practical skills, such as attempting to relieve the blockage in someone who is choking. placing somebody in the recovery position and putting bandages on injured limbs.

Requirements

First Aid Response (FAR) is a new training standard developed by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council of Ireland.

FAR also includes the full Cardiac First Response Community standard.

Method of delivery

The course is facilitated by an instructor from Medicore Medical Services who will use PowerPoint presentation and videos to guide you through the course.

The course is delivered through English.

Renewal

In order to maintain your qualification after your two-year certification period you will be required to undertake a two day recertification course.

Recertification should take place before your current certificate expires.
